This research offers an important opportunity for interested individuals and groups to collect vastly more ecological data than what can be accomplished by professional researchers alone. It also provides a greater knowledge and awareness of local ecosystems, and a better basis for discussing important issues relating to the environment.
If you have taken a cQHEI course, then you are qualified to collect and input data with our new web-based MBI Data Hub! We aim to empower local users to enter data and see results on a map, graph, or table. This is helpful to integrate with other data collectors to gain more monitoring and protection efforts in smaller local streams. This tool is a way to generate trends and communicate them with local entities (e.g., zoning boards, planning officials, parks) and stakeholders (e.g., neighbors, watershed groups).
