Emma started at MBI in July 2025 as a Macroinvertebrate Field Technician. She is passionate about aquatic ecosystems and the organisms within them. She obtained her Bachelor's in Environmental Biology from the University of Dayton, graduating with Magna Cum Laude. In college, she was able to pursue her interests directly through an independent research honor's thesis with a focus on the effects of increased temperature exposure on three-spined sticklebacks. Additionally, Emma spent two summers contributing to the water quality monitoring of surrounding waterways within the City of Dayton. There she analyzed fish and macroinvertebrate communities in specifically stormwater outfalls. Currently, Emma is working with macroinvertebrates at MBI as Research Assistant I where she continues to gain experience sorting and identifying samples collected during the field season.
